Tymothy Jaddock is a dedicated artist, educator, and choreographer who has spent his career preserving and advancing Ukrainian folk dance across Canada, Ukraine, and the United States. From performing with the Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company to training with top ensembles in Ukraine, he has immersed himself in the art form on a global scale.
As a member of the Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company (Edmonton, Alberta), Jaddock performed both ensemble and soloist roles in original works by ballet master Mykola Kanevets, as well as in pieces from the Pavlo Virsky repertoire—a foundational pillar of Ukrainian stage dance. He toured across Canada and the United States with Cheremosh while also directing folk, character, and ballet programs at various dance studios in Alberta. Following five seasons with Cheremosh, Jaddock embarked on a year-long dance residency and training program in Ukraine. He studied ballet, character, and Ukrainian folk dance at the National University of Culture and Arts in Kyiv and the College of Culture and Arts in L’viv. He held residencies with the Bukovynian State Ensemble, the Volyn Folk Choir, and the Poltava State Ensemble, where he learned company repertoire, attended company class, and performed with each company respectively. After returning from Europe, Jaddock moved to New York City, where he earned his master’s degree in Dance Education and Ballet Pedagogy from New York University (NYU) in collaboration with American Ballet Theatre (ABT). During his studies, he secured a prestigious internship with ABT, assisting classes at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School, working closely with leaders in classical dance. Jaddock has extensive experience teaching dance across various levels and styles. He is certified in the ABT National Training Curriculum (Pre-Primary to Level 5) and holds a certificate in Choreography and Character Dance from the L’viv College of Culture and Arts. In addition to working with youth and pre-professional dancers, he collaborates regularly with Brigham Young University’s (BYU) Folk Dance Department, staging original choreography and coaching their International Folk Dance Ensemble (IFDE). Most recently, he returned in February 2025 to create a new piece inspired by the rituals of Ivana Kupala (summer solstice).
